Two posts have arisen for Health and Safety Auditors with a utilities maintenance contractor operating on a reactive maintenance framework contract in the London area, based out of Slough.

One role will be to serve the North London Region, the other Health and Safety Auditor will operate across the Thames Valley Region.

Reporting to the Health, Safety, Environment and Training Manager, the Health and Safety Auditors will be responsible for day to day monitoring of health and safety practice on a high volume of maintenance jobs. This will include checking quality of work, speaking to customers, taking photographs of work locations, assessing and noting any environmental issues, checking the correct PPE is being worn or utilised, checking the calibration of appropriate tools and monitors, and ensuring the correct systems are used appropriately. Candidates should be used to a high pace of work and should have IOSH and / or NEBOSH certification. Experience operating as a Lead Auditor would also be very beneficial, and candidates must have relevant experience from a construction or civil engineering background.

As one of a team of Quantity Surveyors reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day surveying on a repair and maintenance contract within the utilities sector. Office - based, you will be responsible for the accurate recording of commercial information on lump sum and measured works on a very fast moving contract.

Previous experience with a contractor, either general construction or civil engineering or utilities is key and also the ability to process large volumes of data and use an in house system is important. This role will be on a major waste water contract with a four year duration, working for a national contractor with a turnover of approaching £100m. As a high volume repair and reactive maintenance contractor, you will be familiar with the health and safety demands of such works which are directly customer- facing and have very strict guidelines set by the water authorities. You will specifically be responsible for the review of Health and Safety requirements, writing the overall Health and Safety plan and its implementation and adherence across a very large operational team that will be directly interfacing with the public.

The Health and Safety Manager will oversee a team of Health and Safety auditors and will have responsibility for a robust and effective Health and Safety strategy across the contract. He or she will also have responsibility for delivering training on Health and Safety and related matters via in-office presentations and training sessions as well as site based instruction.

Previous experience in a Health and Safety Management role for a contractor and a recognised qualification in Health and Safety such as NEBOSH or IOSH is key. Experience working as a Trainer or Training Manager is also essential as providing continued training support through the growth of the contract is an intrinsic and essential facet of the role.

Two roles have been created for Customer Liaison Officers on a reactive maintenance framework contract for the London area. Successful candidates will perform a mobile role, meeting end user customer to discuss and resolve any complaints they may have arising from maintenance works carried out, and will often be dealing with members of the public in their own homes.

While experience in construction or utilities would be valuable, the Customer Liaison Officer can come from any customer service background. Candidates must have experience in a face-to-face complaints handling role, whether complaints-handling was the sole function of the role or part of an all-encompassing customer service role. In this post, candidates will typically have their first introduction to any customer following the receipt of a complaint and must be confident, self-reliant, able to think on their feet, and be a good problem-solver. The Customer Liaison Officer will be required to handle complaints initially on the telephone and therefore experienced in a fast-paced telephone orientated environment - a call centre for example - would be beneficial. However, candidates must also have face-to-face customer management experience as this is a vital part of the role.

The Customer Liaison Officer will also be required to attend meetings with Local Authorities and clients, and will be required to follow-up on complaints to ensure resolution, including investigating where issues may have arisen and helping to find long-term solutions where appropriate
