Estimator: Job Details
An Estimator with a sound working knowledge of the Conquest software system is required to join a busy estimating department of a North West main contractor. The ideal candidate will have had exposure to both the education sector and to the accommodation sector, including hotels, care homes and student accommodation, and will have a sound appreciation of the need to work to tight deadlines, both in terms of tender submission and project completion, and will be adept at factoring the latter into estimates. Some knowledge of the modular build market would also be advantageous. Given the high tendering levels and generally high activity in the department, this role would suit someone both willing and able to step outside the estimating role and become involved in other aspects of bid work, such as document control and preparation, interacting with architects and engineers, and have some involvement in the design process.
The successful candidate will have had success putting together market-tested bids which are commercially viable and produce that net worth best price estimates. Contracts tend to be of the Design & Build variety and most are won by competitive tender. Though based in Manchester, the Estimator willbe responsible for pricing tenders nationwide, with upcoming work as far apart as Scotland and the South Coast.
With a strong base in the accommodation market, the company is now focusing on expansion into other areas of the construction market and has gained a strong standing with clients and consultants based on its excellent business ethics and quality delivery.
