Working with a leading UK main contractor from their Manchester office, on major projects across the North West region including student accommodation, high rise residential, education, and commercial schemes.

The Opportunity

Our client has been established in the North West for over 100 years and has a proven track record of consistently winning work in the Building and Civil Engineering Sectors. Having won and now being in place on Frameworks in the Manchester and Liverpool areas, our client is also now consistently winning work in other geographical areas such as Cumbria and are looking to continue this success bidding and winning projects from £10m to £100m+.

Skills & Experience

It is key that the candidate be confident, dependable and work in a professional and competent manner able to understand a client's needs and come up with realistic solutions that will conform to timescales set. You will have proven experience on leading a team, writing and winning bids, and have experience of managing a team whilst working in a fast moving environment. Experience of working in sectors such as education, high rise residential, and commercial is preferred. You need to be driven and motivated and always be thinking about the next opportunity, identifying where possible and developing new business opportunities and passing them to operational leads within the relevant Sectors.

To do this you will need the ability to adapt your professional personality to a client's needs whilst always maintaining commercial and financial awareness, be able to listen and understand the needs of a client and always try to exceed the client's expectations ensuring a good eye for attention and detail, manage bids submissions and ensure proposals are of the highest quality of content and presentation. You will need to demonstrate commercial awareness and business acumen and be able to deliver financial strategy to a client.
