Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Regional North West Contractor - projects up to £5m

Established over 25+ years ago and recognised as a North West based company delivering schemes for tier one contractors primarily in earthworks, groundwork's and civil engineering they have built a strong reputation for delivery and client satisfaction.

Due to current work load with further projects due to start, they are currently adding to their commercial team. If you are looking for the opportunity working under the guidance of a Senior Quantity Surveyor who you will report to and who will offer you support, guidance and training where needed, this role will provide you with the opportunities to further your career.

The Role and Responsibilities

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor working with and reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will ideally have experience of working in the industry and have recently completed your HNC/HND or Degree.

Based from their offices but with regular site visits, you will assist in the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the project in order to control and maximise the company's profitability, protect the company's legal and contractual obligations and to proactively manage and control all commercial issues. This includes assisting in the management of contract cost reporting, preparation of cash flow forecasts for subcontractor payments, preparation of accurate forecasts for project costs to completion and final value and assist with the preparation of sub-contact documentation amongst others.

Skills & Experience

The ability to travel as and when required and hold a current UK Driving Licence
Post-graduation experience within the construction industry
Ideally have worked within a main contractor or subcontractor previously
Have a current CSCS card
Have a working knowledge of JCT & NEC contracts
