**New Opportunity** Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Birmingham - National Main Contractor working on a diverse portfolio encompassing Commercial, Education, Defence contracts, Fitout and Frameworks

The Opportunity

Working on a diverse range of projects including leisure, fitout and commercial as well as new build and refurbishment, this is an opportunity to join a contractor with a secured workload who is in an excellent position for attaining their growth expectation in 2022.

The Role and Responsibilities

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor working with guidance and support where needed from a Senior Quantity Surveyor and/or Managing Surveyor, you will ideally have experience of working in the industry and have completed your HNC/HND or Degree.

With guidance you will assist in the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the project in order to control and maximise the company's profitability, protect the company's legal and contractual obligations and to proactively manage and control all commercial issues. This includes ensuring applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms, that sub-contractors receive prompt payment and are procured in line with contractual obligations and commitments to Subcontractors ensuring cost reports and the like are managed and completed on time.
Skills & Experience

*Have experience of working for a main contractor previously and worked in a similar role
*Completed your HNC/HND or Degree
*Have the ability to travel as and when required
*Hold a current CSCS card (preferred but not essential)
*Have knowledge of either JCT or NEC Form of Contract although this is not essential
