Buyer - Regional Contractor - Multiple sites underway with further sites due to start across the North West

The Opportunity

Established over 50 years ago, this family run business continues to make a valuable contribution to the economic sustainability of the communities in which they work.

Working in a number of sectors including construction and refurbishment of residential and industrial / commercial projects they have a reputation quality finishes and a strong reputation for staff retention.

The Role and Responsibilities

As the Buyer working on a number of sectors, you will have the knowledge and experience to be able to understand and review construction drawings, be able to interrogate specifications and have knowledge of building regulations, NHBC etc. and be someone who can grab hold of a situation and come up with other options that may achieve the desired effect if their initial option fails. This is very much a role where you will need the flexibility to 'think on your feet'.

You will maintain regular communication and development of supplier relationships, be able to undertake problem resolutions seeking support as and when appropriate. You will develop and maintain a supply base, proactively develop market and technical awareness and monitor feedback on supplier performance.

Skills & Experience

As a Buyer, you will need to have worked in a similar role in the construction industry.
Be able to look at and understand drawings, interrogating where needed and understand Building Regulations such as NHBC.
Have excellent oral and written skills with clear communication.
The ability to travel as and when needed would be advantageous.
