Regional North West main contractor, work secured on projects throughout the UK for 2019 / 2020, further growth anticipated

The Opportunity

You will be joining the company as Design Manager working on projects valued up to £40m including high rise residential, commercial and Leisure new build projects. Working between the regional office and site, you will be overseeing and managing the design of multiple projects working closely with the team reporting in to the Pre-Construction Manager. Working within a growing business who have a low turnover of staff, you will be joining a newly established Team who are eager to progress the business and their reputation further.

The Role and Responsibilities

As Design Manager, you will have experience of working within a similar role for a main contractor. Experience and knowledge of working with Asta Power Project and CAD will be an advantage but are not essential. This role will offer future progression opportunities so will fit a driven individual who is looking for a career move where they can build on the experience and knowledge they already have.

Skills and Experience

Experience of working in a role with multi-site responsibility with the ability to manage sub-contractors when needed.

Be technically compliant and able to produce cost efficient design solutions on construction projects during work winning stage and/or through the project delivery stage.

The ability to plan design workloads and able to motivate teams to work collaboratively in delivering a coordinated and coherent design in a cost effective way.

Keen eye of H&S and safety risks in the design, good people skills and have an in-depth knowledge of the construction process.

Knowledge of software including AutoCAD and, ideally BIM (Building Information Modelling) but not essentially, competent in MS Office including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

Up-to-date CSCS card

The ability to travel as and when required
