Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - West Yorkshire - Regional Contractor - working on projects specialising in Building Envelopes and Cladding

The Opportunity

As Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining a Regional Contractor recognised for specialising in building envelopes delivering waterproof roof coverings and cladding working across construction, property and rail sectors amongst others.

Originally a family business, the company has now grown to be recognised for not only the work that they produce but their man management skills in developing a core business employing over 80 staff many who have been with the business for a number of years. With the 2024 workstream secured, this is an opportunity to join a company that continues to grow with a stabilised growth structure in place year on year.

The Role and Responsibilities

As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will have worked with facades and cladding ideally with a Subcontractor although this is not essential. You will have a proven ability of managing projects with the delivery teams from the point of tender to completion.

As Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will have proven experience of tender package reviews, estimating façade schemes, producing bid submissions and attending client pre-construction/start meetings. You will have raised sub-contract package appraisals, issued subcontract orders as well as subcontract payments and managed valuation and invoicing for the Façade Department working with the Finance Department on a monthly basis.

Skills & Experience

Experience of having worked in a Quantity Surveying / Estimating role
Knowledge and experience of Building contracts, JCT and NEC3 would be desirable
Knowledge of cladding systems would also be desirable
Have a keen ability to analyse and understand numbers to determine Risks & Opportunities
Have clear and precise interpersonal skills with the confidence and ability to build relationships both internally and with other clients / sub-contractors
The ability to undertake and give clear instructions both verbally and written
IT literate with a good understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
