Senior Engineer - Civils - North West - Secured Work Stream

As Senior Engineer, you will be working with a Tier 1 main contractor who is known for working on some of the largest Civil and Build projects throughout Britain where you will be joining a brand that can offer you stability, longevity of work with career progression over both the short and long-term. With a £5billion+ turnover, they work in a number of sectors including, Roads and Rail, Commercial, Defence, Healthcare and Education.

Skills and Experience

As Senior Engineer, you will be working on highway improvements in and around the North West area. Initially working in the Warrington area, you will be strengthening and widening sections providing further support to existing roads to cater for heavy loads accessing local areas where further development of large industrial parks in the area are ongoing.

Experience of having worked in a similar role is essential as you will be providing management, leadership of a multi-disciplinary team comprising Sub Agents, Section Engineers and Site Engineers.

As Senior Engineer, your duties will include developing and managing materials, plant and labour within the allocated budget, assisting in the development of all systems and procedures ensuring all technical information is clearly communicated to the team. You will also be providing support to the team and verifying the work of others, providing robust technical support as and when needed and producing productivity reports on both a weekly and monthly basis to senior management, in accordance with company procedures.
Further duties will include conducting audits and attending regular meetings with project teams, identifying best practice, areas for improvement and areas of concern including matters relating to safety, finance or quality. It is essential in this role that you have the experience and confidence to develop and maintain relationships with technical consultants, suppliers and your team alike.

You will need:

*A Degree in a relevant engineering discipline and a relevant professional qualification, such as MICE or MIStructE, or having an ONC/HNC is desirable;
*An up to date CSCS card, SMSTS & First Aid
*Previous management experience and a strong understanding of technical issues in the relevant sectors
*Strong communication skills are required, together with an ability to form effective relationships with suppliers/partners and delivery team members under time pressure
*A desire to continuously pursue innovation and development, with a focus on engineering excellence, the customer and the business
