A newly created role on a new project of approaching £50m for a proven commercial lead with a genuine route to Managing QS in the next 12-18 months.
The project, a major city centre design and build, mixed use development starts on site in the next few weeks and will run for the next two years. You will report directly to the Regional Commercial Manager and be joining the region whilst it still has a flat management structure and the clear progression that this gives. The region currently has six live jobs and five more being negotiated as well as a new city centre regional office right in the heart of Manchester. The overall business is tremendously successful nationally and has a turnover in excess of £600m and has a strong culture of recognition for performance both through promotion and fiercely competitive salaries. With six current contracts on site within the Manchester region and a new regional office, there are five more potentials schemes on the horizon. You will be seeking a clear route to the next level, Managing QS and will encouraged by the autonomy to set up commercial processes on the project from day one.
Skills and Experience
You will be a proven Senior Quantity Surveyor that has worked on major design and build contracts and it is a given that you are well versed in all the main aspects of quantity surveying including cost reporting as well as leading a commercial team. The main credential is the ability to manage the commercial processes correctly and create a culture of commercial flair and strong performance. This is a strong career move for an aspirational individual, who has managed the owned projects and can demonstrate employment stability and progression.
