Senior Quantity Surveyor - North West - Regional main contractor - work secured with further projects due to start

Established over 100+ years in the North West, this family owned contractor specialises in working in the Heritage, Residential, Healthcare, Education and Commercial sectors. They are recognized as delivering high-quality construction and development projects to program and investing in the local community.

The Opportunity

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting to the Commercial Manager working on a number of commercial projects in the Manchester area. They are looking for an experienced and motivated Surveyor who is stringent on their attention to detail and who will be responsible for the successful delivery of their projects from outset to completion and settlement of final accounts

Role & Responsibilities

As Senior Quantity Surveyor your duties will include procurement, management and payment of sub-contractors, variations, interim payments, client management, compiling monthly CVR's, and settling final accounts, FOC JCT D&B and general contract admin. You must be able to work independently, under pressure and to strict deadlines.

You will need to take responsibility for the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial and financial elements of projects, maximising profitability and protect the company's legal and contractual obligations whilst proactively controlling all commercial issues. The ability to develop and lead a team is essential.

Skills and Experience
Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC in Construction
Ideally from a main contractor background
Experience of working in a similar role
The ability to work as part of a team
Computer literate with excellent oral and written communication skills
Ideally hold a current CSCS card
