Established over 50 years and continuing to produce high quality housing, this nationally recognised leading housebuilder continues to further increase their presence in and around the North West building a strong team to deliver quality, highly desired residential properties both for the open market and for their Partnership division.
The Opportunity
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting to a Commercial Manager working on both open market and partnership developments ranging from 2 units on site to 300. This role will see you working in a fast paced environment and will give you the opportunity to develop and further progress your career if you have the desire and drive to progress.
Skills and Experience
As Senior Quantity Surveyor your duties will include attending design team and development meetings as well as main contract pre-start and subcontract package review meetings. You will agree the selection of suitable Subcontractors for the works packages, approve Subcontractors for inclusion on the Subcontractor's Approved List, prepare Subcontract tender documentation, analyse tender returns and make recommendations on subcontractor selection. You will also attend subcontract pre-order meetings and agree any post tender variations amongst other duties.
It is essential that you come from a strong residential background with experience in both the Open Market and Partnership housing and ideally have worked for one of the Top 10 leading house building companies and have a proven ability of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will have an excellent understanding of methods of measurement, standard forms of contract, reporting procedures and preparation of contractual claims as well as having excellent written and oral communication skills.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be office based but will visit sites as and when needed but on average this will be once or twice a week as the project demands.

*Come from a new-build housing background covering both Open Market Options and Partnerships
*Current up-to-date CSCS card
*Excellent knowledge of JCT D&B
*The ability to travel as and when needed
*Desire and drive to succeed in a fast paced environment
