As Sub Agent, you will be working with a Tier 1 main contractor who is known for working on some of the largest Civil and Build projects throughout Britain where you will be joining a brand that can offer you stability, longevity of work with career opportunities over both the short and long-term. With a £5billion+ turnover, they work in a number of sectors including, Roads and Rail, Commercial, Defence, Healthcare and Education.
Skills and Experience
As Sub Agent you will lead and drive the area of works under your control in line with programme ensuring a keen eye is maintained on the commercials and health & safety of other team members and Sub-contractors. You will support the project objectives in order to successfully complete the section or works and overall project and lead by example by being actively involved in the day to day delivery of construction projects.
You will work closely with the site team ensuring all team members are fully inducted and carry out role specific requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement where possible. As you will often be working in a 'live' environment, you will be responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff and supply chain within your area of control under the strict observance of the safety policy and in conjunction with local HSE. To ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, you will carry out periodic safety checks as required and have the ability to understands the basics of method statements and the principles of Accident / Incident Investigation with a good awareness of current H & S legislation.
You will also assist site management in the supervision of sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary to ensure that contractual arrangements are achieved and assist in monitoring sub-contractor performance based on KPI's with completion of site audits to help identify actions or any improvements that could be made.
You will need:
*Current CSCS card
*Experience of working in a similar role
*Ability to work under pressure to deadlines, with a flexible attitude towards work in order to deal with a demanding workload
*Ability to work as part of a team and/or the ability to work competently and independently without supervision
*Ability to make decisions following consideration of all options based on best information available at that time
*Clear written and oral communication skills
*Good understanding of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel)
